History
Children's Medical Foundation (CMF) is a self governing, self sustaining legally registered charity in Hong Kong with tax deduction status. Our Board of Directors have fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the Foundation; the Executive Director reports to the Board, implements their decisions and supervises staff in Hong Kong and Shanghai . CMF's previous name was Project HOPE Hong Kong Foundation. The change in name took place in 2006 but the mission and strategies remain the same.
CMF's mission is to improve medical care to the children of China through two broad programs: the long term training programs using "train the trainer" approach and short term direct assistance program in aid of poor children in need of medical help. To enable CMF to carry out these programs the Board focussed its efforts towards the maintenance of Shanghai Children's Medical Center (SCMC) as China 's premier pediatric hospital.
Through our programs, CMF has enabled hundreds of Chinese doctors and nurses to receive intensive training overseas through exchanges arranged with major US children's hospitals, the Queen Mary Hospital in HK, Stanford University Medical Center, Schneider's Children's Hospital in Tel Aviv, Israel. The reputation of SCMC has been enhanced by VIP visits organized by CMF and by the opening of SCMC in 1998 by Mrs Hillary Rodham Clinton.
CMF could not have done this without the unstinting support of our donors and asks for their continued support as we work to improve pediatric care in China . Contributions made to Children's Medical Foundation are tax deductible in Hong Kong . Please help us help the children...
